All that food!

"The journey is the destination" is what is often said. I guess there is some truth in that. During many journeys you will probably see yourself reflected in other people's behaviour, be it at an airport, a busy street or during any other phase of actually getting to your destination. This 'involuntary' self-reflection can indeed be a journey. It is also said that during travels you learn as much, or maybe even more, about yourself as you do about the cultures you encounter.

For me, even though I'm not even a foodie, the destination is also the food! On my iPhone I have a separate album dedicated to pictures I took of my meals during travels. I don't know when I started doing this, but probably during some trip to Asia. Since my partner and I live 1000 km away from each other, it's not obvious to know what each of us had for dinner simply because we often don't sit at the same table. So the food picture taking is perpetuated, just to be able to share what each of us had for dinner that night.

It also comes in handy when I don't speak the local language, but have a picture of what I want from a previous visit. Just like they, also, say: a picture says more than a 1000 words. Or even 1000000 hand gestures.

Here's but a small selection of my food album on my iPhone.
