It's different without the fun.

The best perk of my job is the time I get to spend on locations all over the world, well at least all the places the company does business.

Unfortunately, like all jobs, it's not all just about the perks but mainly about work.

Even the most fun job is still a job.

One of the biggest hurdle, for me personally, is that my body is never (ever) free of jet lag. This is the most difficult part for me to to deal with.

More often than I would like, I have to say 'no' to nice opportunities while I'm on location, simply to get enough rest in between jobs.

Last year I had a job on the tropical island of CuraƧao. It turned out that after the work was finished I had plenty of time to, safely, squeeze in a nice SCUBA dive.

Just recently I had another job on the island. Immediately my thoughts were flooded with the nice memory of the dive. Unfortunately this time the job was done in no time at all.

I was painfully reminded work is, more often than not, just about, well, work.

It's all definitely different without the fun!
