"It's a miracle we can get this baby off the ground!"

That title is one of my favourite quotes by comedienne Pam Ann. The quote refers to the enormous weight of a Boeing 747 (circa 371038 kg!) and what a miracle it is that the thing can even fly.

A Boeing 737 is a featherweight comparatively, but as far as I'm concerned, it's still a miracle the contraption can defy gravity and fly. No matter how many times I've sat in an airplane, I'm amazed every time I think about it.

Don't get me wrong, I get the physics, but intuitively it's almost feels like magic.

On my most recent trip to Berlin I had to board the plane using stairs on the platform on my way back to Amsterdam. This gave me the perfect opportunity to get out the trusty iPhone and quickly snap a picture.

I would love to one day have the opportunity (and the skills) to take images of airplanes like these by Adam Senatori that I have reblogged on my Tumblr

In the mean time, I'll continue my journey through the world of photography.

Don't judge to harshly though, this image was taken while boarding my flight, with my iPhone.
