Bicycle tunnel Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam

Before the 10 year long renovation of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam started, the people of Amsterdam didn't approve of the plan to repurpose the bicycle tunnel and have it integrated into the exposition space of the museum.

Many protests ensued, the plans were changed several times, and the architect originally commissioned for the job was replaced, but the tunnel remains.

This image was taken early in the morning when the city was still half asleep.
