Depending on my jet-lag, the weather and the business of the day, I like to go on photo-safari. Basically I go to a familiar point in the city and walk around through alleys and small backroads.
It's a perfect way to (get lost!) discover new sights, sounds and smells.
One day I was walking around in my favourite city in the world, Bangkok, Thailand, on my way to a BTS station. I decided to use an unfamiliar route and I stumbled upon a small temple tucked away in the maze of alleys that Bangkok is.
I had walked to this particular BTS station many times before, but only when I decided to take a detour, I discovered this beautiful statue of the Buddha covered in gold leave.
